Presenting The ERA!

The "Era" is a custom built chronograph from the finest Swiss and German parts, in a limited edition of 250. The automatic mechanical movement is a modified Valjoux 7750 with only the upper (minutes) & lower (hours) registers used on an original deco style dial reminiscent of the classic chronographs of the 1930s and 1940s.

The Era has a beautiful precision all stainless polished case of approximately 38.5mm excluding the crown, flat rounded pushers, screw on bezel and a scratch proof quartz crystal. The dial is available in 3 designs and/or color combinations ( photos available on request and a customer option ). All of them have a red tachymeter (or tachymetre) ''snail'' scale in the center and Super-LumiNova deco markers and hands to tell time in the dark. Solid hour and minute hands are also available. It has a clear display screw down back (watches ordered after 2006 may have a slightly different case back and numbering without the logo and name printed on the inside of the back) . Customer selected bands include the crocodile 20mm band in gray, brown or black.

My goal was to make a watch that has the "look" of the 30s or 40s but has all of the advantages of a modern mechanical chronograph. This design was strongly influenced by the 500+ vintage chronographs that I have restored over the past several years. I have contracted with RGM of Lancaster, Pa. to produce the Era with assembly being done by Chronodeco in Oregon. Every watch will be custom assembled per each customers dial preference so please allow 30 to 45 days for delivery. The Era is offered at $1395.00. A $250.00 deposit will start construction of your new "old" chronograph. For more information or to order, please contact info@chronodeco.com

Recent Testimonial:
"I received the ERA watch, and was astonished of the quality and detail of the watch. It will definitely rank high in my collection of favorites. The detail is superb as well as the color combination. I feel that you have a real winner with this industry and encourage you to continue. It is also a pleasure dealing with a person than just a company name. I wish you continued success and look forward to more models in the future".

Thank you. Michael C. Scott, New Jersey, USA

*Vintage TACHYMETRE (TACHYMETER) Scale

WHAT IT DOES
The tachymetre scale can be used to compute many things, but it's primary purpose is to compute the speed after noting how long it takes to travel a fixed distance (e.g. one mile or kilometer). The scale is valid for all elapsed times from about 10 seconds to 60 seconds on the Era dial. If the duration of the event is outside this range, the answer on the dial is invalid.

HOW TO USE IT
Suppose you wanted to measure the average speed that a racecar was traveling. After starting the chronograph function when the car passes the starting line, and stopping it after the car travels exactly one mile, you note that the chronograph second sweep hand is pointing at the 4 o'clock position (i.e. 20 seconds have elapsed). Looking at the Tachymetre scale reveals the chronograph second sweep hand pointing at 180. This means that the average speed of the car would be 180 MPH.
